Single sitting root canal treatment, also known as one-visit root canal treatment, is a procedure where the entire root canal therapy is completed in a single appointment. In a traditional root canal treatment, multiple visits were usually required to complete the procedure.

During a root canal treatment, the endodontist (a specialist in root canal therapy) removes the infected or inflamed pulp tissue from the inner part of the tooth, known as the root canal. The canals are cleaned, shaped, disinfected to remove bacteria and are filled to seal them off and prevent reinfection.

The advantage of completing the treatment in one sitting saves time and reduces the need for additional appointments, which can be beneficial for individuals with busy schedules.

However, not all root canal cases are suitable for single sitting treatment. The endodontist will evaluate each case individually based on factors such as the severity of infection, complexity of the root canal system, and the patient's overall oral health. In some cases, the traditional multi-visit approach may be necessary to ensure the best outcome.

Note : It's important to consult with an endodontist who can assess your specific situation and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for your needs. They will consider the condition of your tooth and provide guidance on whether a single sitting root canal treatment is suitable for you.
